Job Description:
Medic/Doctor required for an offshore position commencing early June.
Candidates for this position must be authorised to work in Nigeria
Duties:
Oversee general running of sickbay
Responsible for the well being and dispensing of drugs to the crew
Ensure medication stock complies with MSN1768 shipping scales guidelines (vessels only)
Ensure sickbay follows guidelines of Oil and Gas regulations
Safe keeping of confidential medical information and reporting to Corporate Medical Director
Liaise with Shore side medical support, Corporate Medical Director and OCM during MEDIVACS
Carry out regular Hygiene inspections of the galley, food preparation and storage of foods.
Oversee and action any issues with catering. Liaising with Camp boss.
Focal point for potable water management and Legionella controls
Coordinate First Aid Training
Assist in Accident/ Incident investigation, immediate and root cause analysis. Action follow up and close out.
Educate personnel on all matters of Health and Medical awareness, through power point presentations, regular training and guidance.
Assist management with Client audits. Ensuring issues are closed out to Client satisfaction.
Liaise Closely with OCM daily on all operations (Project and Vessel).
Maintaining MSDS sheets from COSHH Assessments
Communicate and Report back to QHSE manager on a regular basis.
Documenting and recording all medical statistics and issues raised
Regular Galley and Health and Hygiene inspections
Ensuring compliance and familiarisation with Hallin's QHSE management system
Provide, oversee and document any training
Offer assistance to the Master and Marine crew on Medical issues
Additional duties as appropriate at the request of the QHSE Manager or Offshore Construction Manager
Experience and Education
Medical qualification, preferably Doctor but Paramedic/ Nurse may be considered
Broad range of maritime and vessel knowledge
A minimum of 3 years working in an offshore maritime environment, 1 of which must be as the Medic/ Doctor onboard.
Attributes/Skills/Required/Sought
Current Offshore Medic certificate
NEBOSH certificate preferred
Fluent English language speaker, reader and writer.
Knowledge of marine activities relative to vessel operating parameters
Clear and effective oral and written communication skills are an essential part of the job.
Strong coordination, organisation and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues.
