Our client is seeking an experienced Medic/Safety Advisor for a 5th Week Safety Advisor/Medic position on a North Sea FPSO.
The Medic/Administrator is responsible for providing medical treatment, maintaining proper standards of medical supplies onboard and providing administration support to the OIM. Also responsible for control of documentation.

Responsibilities will include:
• Efficiently controlling and administering an offshore Medical section in accordance with relevant
legislation.
• Providing first line accident treatment and general medical treatment.
• Dispensing medication.
• Consulting with shore based medical facilities as required.
• Maintaining dangerous drug register.
• Maintaining a register of prescribed medication.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Maintaining medical and rescue equipment in good order.
• Maintaining stocks of medications and medical equipment at a predetermined level.
• Auditing hygiene of catering facilities.
• Carrying out potable water sampling in accordance with Company procedure.
• Involvement in emergency exercises.
• Providing on board training to first aid team.
• Carrying out administration duties as required by OIM
• Co-ordinating helicopter pre-flight briefs.
• Compiling and maintaining correct POB lists and updating of onshore logistic departments.
• Co-Administration of personnel working time records and collation of accurate monthly morbidity data.
• Allocating cabins for personnel coming on the installation.
• Coordinating personnel movements on/off installation. Maintaining and posting muster lists.
• Act as Assessor within the Competence Assurance Scheme.
• Monitoring Hygiene standards applied by catering crew.

The Safety Advisor is responsible for the supervision and operation of safety activities for the maintenance of safety equipment and safety. Also responsible for administration of the PTW system.

Responsibilities will include:

• Advising management and personnel on all aspects of Health and Safety.
• Promoting the safety culture through safety meetings, tool box talks etc.
• Carrying out the platform induction programme.
• Advising line management on implementation of scope of work practices and precautions.
• Carrying out necessary safety assessments including auditing of SMS systems i.e. PTW, COSHH etc.
• Maintaining and operating the COSHH systems.
• Implementing and carrying out the Safety Maintenance Programme.
• Co-ordinating the Permit to Work system.
• Ensuring the smooth running of the PTW system and enforcing company policies in accordance with the Corporate Management System.
• Managing and controlling isolation/de-isolation certificates and complying with company isolation policy. Adequate records must be kept and updated as required.
• Monitoring and controlling mechanical and electrical long term isolations. Adequate records must be kept and updated as required.
• Controlling confined space entry certificates. Gas tests must be carried out.
• Controlling key lockout box system. Log must be kept up to date.
• Maintaining and issuing portable gas detectors. Control gas detector logbook.
• Training of permit users.
• Carrying out Safety Inductions for new personnel onboard
• Ensuring regular checks are performed on portable Fire fighting, Safety & Emergency equipment & ensuring equipment is sent onshore for repair and maintenance when required.
• Management of the 3rd party personnel carrying out periodic maintenance on the safety and emergency equipment onboard
• Facilitating Safety meetings, risk assessments, area inspections, etc
• Facilitating Accident/incident investigations
• Managing the onboard safety related training and maintain appropriate authorised persons registers
• Initiating and manage the corporate incident database, including the transmission of First Notifications
• Managing the routine Emergency Exercise Programme.
• Implementing the Installation Safety Year Plan.
• Monitoring all Radiation sources and keeping appropriate records as required.
• Act as Assessor within the Competence Assurance Scheme.
• Carry out Manual Handling Assessments as required


Required Skills/Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role.

Required Qualifications: Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting and HUET Certificate or equivalent
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
Oil & Gas UK Medical Certificate
Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness
Offshore Medic Certificate
Food and Environmental Hygiene Certification
NEBOSH Certificate or experience
COSHH assessor or equivalent
Radiation Protection Supervisor
Fire Team Member and Fire Team Leader
Minimum Experience: 5 years

Remuneration: 64000 UK Pounds/year
