Job Purpose 

Perform both clinical/medical and clerical/administration support to offshore crew.

1.       Provide medical support to Offshore Crews including but not limited to:-
  1. Taking medical histories
  2. Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  3. Preparing patients for examination
  4. Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens (specimens will be send onshore for analyses)
  5. Instructing patients about medication and special diets
  6. Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
  7. Drawing blood
  8. Taking electrocardiograms
  9. Removing sutures and changing dressings Administers pre-hospital care to ill and injured workers, up to and including medical evacuation from platform to definitive care, in accordance with Malaysian national and industry standards of care
  10. Maintains and ensures readiness of emergency medical equipment and supplies
  11. Conducts first aid training and casualty handling and management exercises for the platform personnel
  12. Respond to emergencies as part of the Offshore Emergency Response Team

2.       Support Platform OIM on selected administration work such as Helicopter/Vessel reservation, Offshore Safety Briefing, Platform Hygiene Checks/Inspection, Maintain and Manage Offshore Clinic including cleanliness, medical supplies and inventory, participate in and provide HSSE support for platform risk assessments, investigations and operational activities, relieves the Radio Technician when required, functions as reserve HLO where trained to do so.

3.       Support HSE team on HSE offshore related matters such as urine sampling, health and fitness programs.

4.       Required to prepare Health related presentation slides for Health/Fitness talks with offshore crew.

5.       Will be based offshore and follows the offshore working rota, 2 weeks offshore and 2 weeks off.


 Qualification & Experience
Qualification
The jobholder should be:-
  1. Registered with the Ministry of Health of Malaysia as a Medical Assistant.
  2. Have completed ACLS training.
  3. Have a diploma in Medical Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  4. Additional qualifications in related medical field, industrial hygiene, occupational health or occupational safety would be an added advantage.


Experience & Requirements
  1. Experience in medical trauma assistance will be added advantage
  2. Proficient in computer skills with latest PC applications (Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point and other computer applicants)
  3. Good communication skills, including written and oral
  4. Ability to work in team environment
  5. Flexible and able to work additional hours/days offshore would be an advantage.
  6. Flexible and able to assume any additional related tasks.
  7. Flexible and willing to travel to work on other offshore platforms in both Peninsula Malaysia and Sabah.
