The Rig Medic Provides emergency medical care for rig personnel, in Addition to ongoing care of injuries, illnesses and medical conditions. Rig Medics Comprise the rig's primary first aid response team and report Directly to the OIM / Captain and Chief Officer. . His / Her Responsibilities include keeping accurate medical reports of injuries and illnesses, taking inventory of all medical supplies, and Maintaining an onboard database of medical records for all personnel for Rig Medic Job Functions: Acts as primary emergency response unit. Provides medical care for injured and ill personnel. Operates and Maintains serviceability of medical equipment. Maintains rig serviceability and cleanliness of hospital. Keeps an accurate inventory of medical supplies and Makes orders as Necessary. Acts as medical liaison rig to shore-based medical facilities. Directly reports all injuries and illnesses to the OIM / Captain and Safety Officer. Maintains current medical records for all rig personnel. Notifies rig Department Heads of department-related injuries and illnesses. Advises OIM / Captain of Medical Emergency Procedures, Emergency Procedures Including evacuation. Monitors food storage facilities , Maintaining hygiene and temperature requirements. Performs Regular testing of water and filtration units. Assists in the rig Safety Officer Identifying potential hazards.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Medical Recognized Doctor or paramedic training. College Diploma / Medical school. Training in Basic and Advanced course in hyperbaric and diving medicine preferred. Minimum 5 years experience. Experience working on a marine offshore oil rig or vessel. Valid Offshore Medical. BOSIET or Equivalent Training OPITO approved. Both Fluent in spoken and written English.
