Emergency Room Nurse - Off Shore Experience with HAAD - Male Only

The Off Shore Emergency Nurse will be working in a UniTeam Medical Client facility, a specialised seismic survey company, located off shore in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Additional work may be available in various locations on shore in Abu Dhabi.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the position is to provide primary and emergency medical care to a UniTeam Medical Client. The services are to be provided to 200-300 project staff predominantly on an Off Shore vessels out of Abu Dhabi and will require work in other locations in Abu Dhabi onshore. This position is on a rotational Roster. The schedule roster consist of six weeks off shore followed by six weeks leave with return flights.


The position’s principle role is to provide medical emergency treatment and provide primary medical care to all the offshore personnel on site.


Qualifications/Experience
Registered Nurse
Bachelor degree in Nursing
Two years Post Registration Experience
Diploma in Nursing of minimum three (3) years course duration

AND valid ACLS

License
A valid Home Country License must be maintained at all times
A valid Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) license must be maintained at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Evidenced by Essential
Must have previous medial experience in remote, offshore Oil & Gas or industrial setting with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) knowledge
BOSIET certification required
OGUK medical certification required
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English

Desirable
PHTLS, ATLS
HSE Certification (Nebosh, IOSH, OSHA etc.)

Compensation & Benefits:

A monthly compensation of AED 11,000 per month may be supplemented by an additional day rate for on shore work depending on availability. Accommodation with full board will be provided off shore with transport to and from the vessels. During the on shore period shared, single room accommodation will be provided with utilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Respond to all medical emergencies and provide care as required as per client’s current policy and procedures.

Assist client’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in the execution of health and safety initiatives such as health & hygiene inspections, health surveillance programs, health promotion programs, etc.

Operate a fully functional off shore clinic to check the functionality of medical equipment and check pharmacy and clinical supplies are available and applicable to the setting. The clinical workload is predominantly routine outpatient clinic and minor injuries. Serious injuries are uncommon due to outstanding safety practices offshore, but all medical staff must be to respond, stabilise and transfer casualties to a trauma centre quickly and effectively should the situation require.

There is a requirement to offer health assessment and screening such as blood pressure and cholesterol checks, lung function tests, etc.

The offshore Emergency Nurse also assists with monitoring public health issues in areas such as infectious disease, air and water quality and work site health exposure. Additionally, the nurse is a member of the Medical Emergency Team in the event of drills and actual emergencies, and assists with training the Emergency Response teams.

In addition, the nurse may be asked to attend safety meetings, address health concerns as they arise, give presentations on health and safety topics to the crew, and lead inspections of accommodations from a health perspective.

The nurse must comply with the Company’s and Client’s policies and procedures and Code of Conduct at all times.
