Petrofac is recruiting a Medic on a staff basis
Since the mid 1990’s, Petrofac has provided Operations Support services to CNR’s Ninian, Murchison and Tiffany fixed installations in the UK Continental Shelf.
The Role:
We require a Medic to work offshore on one of our CNR Assets, working on a 3/3 rota flying via Scatsta. The Medic will provide routine and emergency care to all platform personnel and act as focal point for all platform Occupational Health activities.
Specific duties include:
undertaking OGUK Medicals and ERT Medicals offshore
monitoring delivery of all Occupational Health and hygiene issues on a day to day basis and in any emergency situation
maintaining emergency medical equipment on the platform as per Medics Standing Orders
maintaining the medical pharmacy on the platform and monitor all medications and substances brought onto the platform by personnel and refer to company medical advisor for guidance when medications out with the medical standing orders are brought on to the platform
assisting with compliance with the Noise at Work Regulations and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations
performing Face Fit Testing as required
delivering training material on request from Platform Management Team including but not limited to following topics:- benzene, legionella, sewage, asbestos, noise, healthy working lives material
role within Incident reporting and investigation procedure – for all first aid injurious incidents with low potential to initiate investigation by taking witness statement, engaging relevant Supervisor, carrying out incident investigation to determine root cause, agreeing remedial actions and long term actions, determining incident potential and raising Synergi Report
assisting in planning and organizing emergency response exercises and maintaining a debrief register
The successful candidate must have a current valid HSE Offshore Medic Certificate AND one of the following:
Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC current registration, a suitable portfolio and prior offshore experience
Royal Navy/ Royal Marines/ Royal Fleet Auxiliary Medic who has attained the rank of Leading Hand/ Corporal & a suitable portfolio with prior offshore experience
Army Medical Assistant (CMT1, RMA1) or RAF Medical Assistant – who has attained the rank of Corporal & a suitable portfolio with prior offshore experience
