Offshore Intensive Care Paramedic

International SOS is seeking YOU to join our Offshore Medical Services team of Health Care Professionals.

International SOS is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Intensive Care Paramedics for a project due to commence in early 2017. The proposed position would see you join our team of medical professionals working on a long term project providing primary health care, initial emergency response and other related services to all client employees and subcontractors on site, as per scope of work at an offshore installation within Australian Waters.

Skills and Experience required

Ability and competence to perform the main ALS activities to stabilize a patient (intubation, use of manual defibrillators, sedation, use of IV lines, use of common emergency medicine drugs);
Minimum of 5 years' work experience in Emergency Medicine,
Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a remote location,
Formal Qualification in Paramedical studies (Bachelor Degree in Paramedic or Health Science or equivalent) and;
Postgraduate qualifications as Intensive Care Paramedic: (Intensive Care Paramedic e.g. Graduate Diploma (ICP) or Masters (ICP) - depending on jurisdiction, this may include Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA), Paramedic, Clinical Manager (Royal Australian Navy), Intensive Care Paramedic (ALS), Level 5 Paramedic

and;
Retrieval Paramedic: (Retrieval Paramedic (e.g. Graduate Certificate (RP) or Masters (RP) - depending on jurisdiction, this may include Flight Paramedic, Air Ambulance Paramedic, MICA Flight Paramedic, Critical Care Paramedic, Flight ICP, Aero Medical Evacuation Medic (ADF).
Current certification in:
BLS,
Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 2,
OGUK Medical,
OPITO accredited BOSIET,
MSIC,
CSTP,
Drug and Alcohol testing certificate,
Either EMST or PHTLS training and certification,
Proficient use of medical equipment including Spirometer, Audiometer and telemedicine devices,
Familiar with state worker's compensation legislation,
Experience in training and development,
Must have work rights in Australia and live in Australia or New Zealand
