Medic / Safety Advisor

Petrofac is currently recruiting for a Medic / Safety Advisor for the FPF1 on a 1/5 rotation.

The Medic / Safety Advisor will be responsible to the Offshore Installation Manager for first line medical care of installation personnel. They will be the facilitator of the installation Safety Management Systems and advise all members of the management team on safety matters.

Job Specific Duties:
Be available at all times to respond and provide assistance to sick or injured personnel.
Request advice and assistance from Topside Doctor
Maintain a high level of confidentiality on all medical and personal matters
Ensure equipment, drugs, dressings, and consumables held onboard all comply with or surpass current legislation
Maintain adequate stocks of medical consumables and reorder as required.
Complete regular checks of controlled drugs in the presence of the OIM.
Maintain all medical equipment and relevant safety equipment, eg emergency showers, defibrillator, etc
Prepare and implement First Aid training for offshore personnel.
In conjunction with Company Medical Advisor and Onshore Safety Group, provide appropriate presentations/promotional packages aimed at encouraging offshore personnel to adopt a healthy lifestyle both at work and home
Ensure that clinical waste is properly segregated and disposed of
Carry out regular sampling of the potable water storage and ensure samples are sent for analysis and results are filed
Conduct platform inductions for new personnel

The successful candidate will be one of the following:

• A Registered Nurse Adult, who will appear on the NMC Register

• A RMN with other nursing qualifications, (RGN or EN), who appear on the NMC register

• A Naval /Royal Marine Medical Assistant, who has attained the rate of Leading Medical Assistant/Corporal and above

• An Army Medical Assistant (CMT1, RMA1), who has attained the rank of Corporal and above

• A RAF Medical Assistant, who has attained the rank of Corporal and above

• A Paramedic, who is on the HCPC Register



They will have a NEBOSH certificate and incident investigation experience. We are looking for someone with strong communication, team work problem solving and organisation skills.
