CareFlight has secured a number of contracts with major oil, gas and mining companies to provide medical services. This has provided excellent opportunities for experienced Intensive Care Paramedics in our energy services operations.

The role

CareFlight provides fixed wing assets, clinical and aviation staff, medical advice, clinical governance, logistic and coordination services for our clients.

Our Intensive Care Paramedics are integral to the service and will be assigned to offshore vessels on a rotational basis.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager (based in Perth), your key objectives and responsibilities will include:
delivering the highest quality paramedical care in a pre-hospital environment;
managing logistical issues that may arise within a case, ensuring a smooth transition between both transport modes and Institutions; and
consulting and communicating both within the team and externally with our stakeholders, to ensure an optimal patient journey.

Successful candidates will be trained, credentialed and mentored in providing remote primary health and critical care.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:
be qualified to work as a Paramedic in a public ambulance service in an Australian State or Territory or in New Zealand (including a primary paramedic qualification)
hold qualifications as an Intensive Care Paramedic (eg Graduate Diploma (ICP) or Masters (ICP)) N.B. depending on jurisdiction, this may include Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA), Paramedic, Clinical Manager (Royal Australian Navy), Intensive Care Paramedic (ALS), Level 5 Paramedic

OR
hold qualifications as a Retrieval Paramedic (eg Graduate Certificate (RP) or Masters (RP) N.B. depending on jurisdiction, this may include Flight Paramedic, Air Ambulance Paramedic, MICA Flight Paramedic, Critical Care Paramedic, Flight ICP, Aero Medical Evacuation Medic (ADF)
be able to provide evidence of certification completed within the past three years in:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or equivalent
Advanced Life/Cardiac Support (ALS or ACLS) Certification or equivalent
Trauma qualification PHTLS/ITLS training and certification
OPITO approved TBOSIET or BOSIET
OPITO approved CA-EBS
be able to demonstrate evidence of Skills Maintenance
have five (5) years’ work experience in Emergency Medicine
have three (3) years’ work experience in a Remote Location
hold a current passport or the ability to acquire one
hold a current Driver’s Licence
