Responsibilities
The Medic will report to the OIM and will be responsible for the provision of medical services on board the MODU.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Medic will:
Monitor the physical and medical well-being of all personnel on-board the rig.
Provide First Aid and medical services.
Maintain medical records.
Maintain an accurate list of medications brought on-board the MODU.
Maintain an up-to-date list of persons with chronic long term medical conditions with the details of the condition formally recorded.
Complete a Risk Assessment for chronic health condition employees i.e. Diabetes, warfarin, asthma, etc, and present and discuss the output of the assessment with the OIM.
Supply administrative services as required by the OIM including the following:
Liaising with the Training Co-ordinator regarding rig based training requirements
Submitting Training Request Forms (TRF's)
Maintaining training records
Maintaining Worldwide Competency Records
HR liaison for ESN's
Assist with Medical advice
Facilitate heli-brief and check-in procedures for departing passengers and meet inbound passengers prior to welcome onboard meeting
Any further admin roles as required
Assist the OIM and Barge Supervisor in Health, Safety and Environmental matters including the co-ordination and maintenance of the COSHH Programme and the assessment of personal protective equipment.
Co-ordinate all water management activities and carry out monitoring checks as required including maintaining the water management logbook
Implement the Occupational Health programme applicable to the rig.
Maintain the medical stores and hospital equipment in accordance with company requirements.
Be responsible for the cleanliness and hygienic condition of the hospital and its contents and in addition the security and control of the dangerous drugs stock in accordance with the 1985 Act.
Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs
Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
Perform other duties as required
Job Elements:
Carry out all medical and First Aid duties in compliance with Company policies.
Account for the receipt, administration and/or disposal of all scheduled and controlled medicines, maintain the controlled drugs register and be the person, appointed by the OIM, responsible for ensuring controlled drugs are kept under lock and key.
Consult with Company Medical Services ashore as required in event of illness or accident and for complex health issues.
Receive follow up on both Restricted medicals, Medi Vacs with full information.
Provide Medical Reports on personnel to the Company Doctor as required.
Control and maintenance of all medical equipment for the lifeboats and on board the rig.
Checking and stocking of First Aid boxes and eye wash stations.
Providing onboard First Aid training and techniques as required.
Formalist training routines for nominated First Aid teams and exercise routinely thereafter (at least once per hitch)
Regular inspection and reporting of general hygienic conditions, in particular the galley, food storage and accommodation, including the sampling of Pot Water supplies.
Conduct Legionella awareness with the rig crews on an annual basis.
Engage with Diamond's Medical Advisor for advice, to take part in conference calls and to discuss long term absence or chronic conditions.
Assist Department Heads with the generation of COSHH assessments.
Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets are available for all recognised hazardous substances held on the Rig.
Provide up-to-date Health Education to rig crews on topics relevant to the industry.
Conduct annual COSHH Surveillance
Conduct Fire Team Fitness Testing
Participate and advise on Emergency Drills, Fire, Rescue at Height, Confined Space, etc.
Take receipt of all medications gathered at the heliport from passengers travelling to the MODU. Review medication and return (or contact ROC Health for advice).
Qualifications
Basic
Legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom without restriction
Willing and able to be away from home in excess of 21 days
Possess a valid passport.
Possess a valid BOSIET certification
Possess a valid MIST certification
Possess a valid OGUK Medical Certificate
Preferred
Previous offshore drilling experience
