Job Description

To maintain a state of medical emergency preparedness and provide routine health care to all personnel onboard assigned installation/vessel/work site in accordance with Iqarus Medic Standing Orders (MSO) and at all times abiding by a code of conduct and principles of medical confidentiality as per legislative requirements.
Provide onsite routine health care and advice to offshore personnel in line with Iqarus MSOs
Provide onsite emergency medical care 24 hours per day in line with Iqarus MSOs
Develop ands maintain stock levels of all medications, including safe custody of controlled drugs and maintenance of controlled drugs register, in accordance with Iqarus MSO
Management of clinical waste
Ensure all medical equipment and gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained, including calibration of required items
Develop and maintain contingency plan for platform emergencies, including multiple casualty and communicable disease outbreak
Record and report sickness absence
Fitness to work assessments – offshore, routine breathing apparatus and Emergency Response Team
Catering and accommodation audit
First Aid Instruction - training sessions for first-aiders, stretcher bearers and electricians
Promote Employee Assistance Programme
With cause evidential and non-evidential drug testing
Display Screen Equipment Coordinator, facilitate self-assessments
Health Promotional Activities as defined by the health manager
Counselling - supporting personnel in times of bereavement or crisis at home


Occupational Health duties:
Noise – Nominated competent person for noise and compliance with noise issues, complete dosimetry as per defined plan.
Occupational Hygiene Monitoring – Periodic monitoring within the MOUK annual plan.
Benzene Testing: Provide guidance on Benzene SOP to all parties and provide training on gas detector.
COSHH Focal Point – Provide guidance on MOUK Control of Substances Hazardous to Health SOP. Complete COSHH assessments as required.
Manual Handling – Provide guidance on Manual Handling SOP and Bodyguard process to all users. Sanction risk assessments within the system.
Display Screen Equipment Focal Point – Provide guidance on DSE SOP to all personnel and monitor compliance within the Cardinus database.
Respiratory Protective Equipment – Provide guidance on RPE SOP and complete Face Fit Testing as required.
Vibration – Provide guidance to supervisors on MOUK HAV SOP and expectations.
Asbestos – Maintain the installation asbestos register and provide guidance to supervisors on MOUK Asbestos SOP.
Legionella – Act as platform Legionella focal point in accordance with relevant SOP.
Hydrogen Sulphide – Provide guidance to supervisors on MOUK H2S SOP.
Daily, weekly and monthly Pot water analysis (pH, temperature etc)
Complete OGUK medicals offshore
Occupational Health Checks

HSEA Duties:
Radiation Protection Supervisor: Nominated competent person “Radiation Protection Supervisor”
Event Investigation and Reporting
Complete Safety Inductions in line with Induction Process– Donut trainer, Skyscape, lifeboat placement and use, PPE and how they can be used, mustering protocols etc
Platform Emergency Exercises: Prepare and coordinate weekly platform emergency exercises and maintain records of individual Platform Manager/OIM in compliance with OPITO standards
Primary Function Monitoring as per platform matrix.
Safety Conversation Cards as per platform structure.
Permit to Work Audits as per platform plan.
Collate SC Card/ASA, etc.
Collate PTW Audits.
Support Platform Manager with collation of trip brief content.
Support Platform Manager with administration of Safety Rep meetings.

Training Duties:
Coordinate and maintain records of all nominated First Aiders as per designated plan.
Provide training on all medical elements of the Emergency Response Team training and submit record of attendance to Operations focal point.
Complete Coxswains training as per defined matrix and submit records to Operations focal point.
Provision of training on an ad hoc basis on various occupational health and safety topics as required (casualty handling etc)


Qualifications



Eligible to work, or resident, in the UK
HSE Offshore Medic Certificate
Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years’ post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit
OR
Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR; Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR; British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR; Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR; Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician,
OR
HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH’s Service
BOSIET/FOET (c/w CA-EBS)
OGUK Medical
MIST
