We require Offshore Medic for an ongoing contract, working 28 days on 28 day off rotation;

The Medic provides medical services to all crew members and is on call 24/7 whilst on board the rig.

He/she ensures that the stock of medical and nursing supplies is kept at the required level at all times.

The Medic is responsible for the organisation of preventative healthcare, supervision of physical and mental health of personnel, administration of first aid treatment, supervision of medical emergency preparedness procedures, control of hygiene standards on the rig, and registration of chemicals and medical substances.

Requirements for the role:

(a) Be qualified to work as a Paramedic in a public ambulance service in an Australian State or Territory or in New Zealand (includes those who have a primary paramedic qualification – e.g. Bachelor Degree in Paramedic or Health Science or equivalent);

(b) Have completed postgraduate studies and internships, leading to a qualification as an:

(i) Intensive Care Paramedic (e.g. Graduate Diploma (ICP) or Masters (ICP))

N.B. depending on jurisdiction, this may include Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA), Paramedic, Clinical Manager (Royal Australian Navy), Intensive Care Paramedic (ALS), Level 5 Paramedic;

(ii) Retrieval Paramedic (e.g. Graduate Certificate (RP) or Masters (RP);

N.B. depending on jurisdiction, this may include Flight Paramedic, Air Ambulance Paramedic, MICA Flight Paramedic, Critical Care Paramedic, Flight ICP, Aero Medical Evacuation Medic (ADF).

(c) Current Certification (i.e. less than three (3) years) in:

(i) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or equivalent

(ii) Advanced Life/Cardiac Support (ALS or ACLS) Certification or equivalent;

(iii) Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training and certification or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).

(d) Valid BOSIET & CA-EBS
