Offshore Paramedic , USA

Location: Offshore (USA)

The principal responsibility of the Offshore Paramedic is providing emergent care in the event of a medical emergency. During an emergency all other duties become secondary. The Paramedic is also responsible as the primary health care provider, for the health and well being of crew members and associated personnel at the job location.


Medical Duties:

Provide emergency medical treatment as appropriate
Provide non-emergency care as appropriate
Properly document all patient treatment
Maintain personnel prescription & medical condition records
Maintain medical equipment, supplies, and clinic on the facility
Maintain monthly equipment maintenance records.
Maintain written crew change notes to pass on important information between the paramedic/clerks

Maintain medical emergency response information
Monitor general hygiene issues on the facility and report incidence of concern to the PIC or Facility Supervisor

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES

Meet all incoming and outgoing passengers, by helicopter or boat and assist with the safe transfer of personnel.
Direct personnel to the proper area for orientation to the facility.
Conduct platform orientation and assign lifeboat assignments
Have Marine Transportation Security Act Security Personnel Training such that he can inspect and verify TWIC cards and properly screen personnel/luggage arriving from helicopters or vessels
Maintain current POB (Persons On Board)
Facilitate and document safety meeting
Monitor and document emergency drills
Be observant of any unsafe conditions, acts or government violations and report incidence of concern to the PIC or Facility Supervisor
Assist with the accident reporting as needed

GENERAL DUTIES

Answer telephone call in a professional and courteous manor
Maintain a proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel, and PowerPoint
Assist PIC & Facility Supervisor with basic computing projects
Create and assure the accuracy of departing manifests
Assist the PIC and Facility Supervisor with the Maintenance and archive of weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

Paramedic License required
TWIC card preferred
Occupational Medicine experience preferred
Experience working in a Plant is a plus
Must possess a valid state drivers license
Current CPR and First Aid certifications
ACLS course completion required
Ability to remain calm and deliver quality care in high-pressure situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
