Duties:
Administering first aid and routine medical treatment to all personnel on board in consultation with shore based medical physician.
Distribution and administration of medicines and drugs within the constraints of law and in consultation with shore based medical physician.
Maintaining the vessel's medical spaces in a clean and healthy state and ensuring that all medical equipment is ready for immediate use.
Maintaining medical stocks to the prescribed level and actively monitoring expiry and Consumption.
Working with Master / OIM to maintain control of the controlled medicines locker such that no unauthorized person may gain access.
Attending the scene of any incident involving injury to personnel on board and administering medical treatment as necessary.
Completion of Helix and Client's statutory medical forms whenever required and maintaining a thorough and consummate medical log for every evolution.
Advising the Master when a communicable disease is suspected
Advising the Master should medical evacuation (MEDIVAC) be necessary. (If deemed necessary and with the permission of the Master, the Medic may be required to accompany casualties during MEDIVAC).
Familiarizing First Aiders on board with hospital layout, inventory system, location of medicines and instruments.
Performing hygiene inspections in conjunction with the Master.
On some vessels, may be required to carry out testing of Potable Water under the direction of the Chief Officer or Chief Engineer.
Advising the crew on matters of health and hygiene.
Performing duties in accordance with the vessel's Muster List / Station Bill.
Ensuring that daily activities are carried out in a healthy manner.
Coordinates Vessel bed assignments and in conjunction with onshore Travel Department coordinates all crew changes.
Ensuring that onboard safety briefings
• Helicopter Safety Briefing
• Vessel Familiarization
Are completed, understood and documented.

Receive, assign, maintain privacy and inventory of '90 Day WIFI Vouchers' for Helix access to Internet
Manage Personal Details Forms and enter personal details in the Crew Management database in NSEnterprise I
Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: EMT-Paramedic
* Experience: 3 years as Paramedic and 6 Months Offshore experience Preferred
* Skills:
Good verbal/written communication, fluent in both written and verbal English. Microsoft Office Proficient. Strong
organizational skills as well as having the ability to work effectively on own initiative; Familiar with the offshore oil and gas industry and marine terminology; Be physically fit to work offshore and in International Environments.

The Medic has the authority to stop ANY activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards.
Decision Making: The Medic coordinates with the Master or any other department head necessary for the safe and efficient operation of his department and the health of all onboard.
