Offshore Medic - 2/3 Rotation - Permanent

Job Description
Medical Duties
Provide 24 hour onsite routine health care and advice to offshore personnel in line with Iqarus MSOs
Provide onsite emergency medical care 24 hours per day in line with Iqarus MSOs
Seek appropriate and timely consultation/advice from Topside service
Arrange any required Medevac cases in accordance with Iqarus and Client site protocols
Maintain accurate and confidential medical and sickness records
Medical Team Leader in emergency situations
Review medication declarations in line with MSO and Operations Procedure appendix D.
Maintain stock levels/conditions of all medications, consumables and equipment both in Sick bay and in First Aid kits around platform.
Maintain safe custody of controlled drugs and maintenance of controlled drugs register, in accordance with Iqarus MSO and Operations Procedure
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, supported with clear and concise medical records in line with Iqarus Records and Record Keeping Policy, also maintain the sickbay attendance log, including Patient information on medications taken and known allergies
Management of clinical waste and routine cleaning of the Sick bay
Ensure all medical equipment and gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained, including calibration of required items in accordance with manufacturers guidelines
Submit attendance log to relevant Medical Advisor at the end of each trip
Complete a comprehensive handover, wherever required, at the end of each trip
Maintain all eye wash, earplug and lens cleaning stations
Undertake galley and accommodation hygiene inspections
Occupational Health
Undertake the role of general site Advisor for Occupational Health issues
Radiation Protection Supervisor – Ensure all work with ionising radiation is conducted according to the local rules - this includes activities undertaken by contractors. Other activities include work site monitoring and auditing for compliance against regulations
Water Quality/ Legionella Management – undertake regular sampling to determine appropriate bacteriological/chemical content, associate risk, and quality of potable water
Implement appropriate processes to resolve/mitigate risks to potable water systems on advice from specialist provider
Advise on accommodation environmental conditions e.g. humidity/temperatures; liaise with maintenance dept. on these systems
Provide guidance and monitoring in response to acute outbreaks of food poisoning/infestations i.e. Norovirus
Provide information and advice on healthy living and working in the offshore environment
Help develop Occupational Health awareness topics and present to appropriate crews as per the HSE “Theme of the Month”
Undertake role of nominated Competent Noise at Work Advisor – Coordinate noise at work hearing conservation program and maintain NEMS model which includes dosimetry/noise surveys
Undertake role of COSHH Focal Point. Coordinator of Platform – Identification and monitoring hazardous substances ensuring adequate COSHH assessment are in place
Contribute to the assessment of toxic and other Occupational Health hazards and support the appropriate management of risks
Sypol System – Advise only on Contractor COSHH provided assessments
Carry out Face Fit Testing of Client Staff

HAVs awareness
Have a knowledge of Benzene
Maintain accurate Occupational Health and Hygiene records
Awareness of IADC and OSHA Guidelines
Participate in risk identification and mitigation activities as required
Participate in accident/incident investigations as required
Participate in worksite checks/auditing as required
Drills and Exercises
Participate in First Aid Team, ERT, and Helideck emergency crew training
Qualifications
Eligible to work, or resident, in the UK
HSE Offshore Medic Certificate
Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years’ post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit
OR
Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR; Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR; British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR; Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR; Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician,
OR
HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH’s Service
HSE Offshore Medics Course
