Job Description

Accountabilities
Responsible for the routine and emergency healthcare for site personnel
Build and maintain an excellent working relationship with Iqarus clients, their employees and contractors
Responsible for ensuring personal CPD and clinical skills are kept up to date

Main Duties
Provide onsite routine health care and advice to offshore personnel in line with Iqarus MSOs
Provide onsite emergency medical care 24 hours per day in line with Iqarus MSOs
Develop and maintain stock levels of all medications, including safe custody of controlled drugs and maintenance of controlled drugs register, in accordance with Iqarus MSO
Management of clinical waste
Ensure all medical equipment and gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained, including calibration of required items
Develop and maintain contingency plan for platform emergencies, including multiple casualty and communicable disease outbreak
Record and report sickness absence
Fitness to work assessments – offshore, routine breathing apparatus and Emergency Response Team
Flu vaccine programme deployment
Management of outbreaks of infectious disease
Catering and accommodation audit
Gym co-ordinator - safety awareness and implementation of gym policy
First Aid Instruction - training sessions for first-aiders, stretcher bearers and electricians
Promote Employee Assistance Programme
With cause evidential and non-evidential drug testing
Health Surveillance: Audiometry/Noise, Skin, Respiratory, Specific Exposures, night worker health check, and reporting to OH team on request
Display Screen Equipment Coordinator, facilitate self-assessments
Health Promotional Activities as defined by the health manager
Counselling - supporting personnel in times of bereavement or crisis at home.
Maintain medical confidentiality and data privacy as required by regulatory, Client and professional standards responsible for compliance with the Client Group Fatigue process under the direction of the physician


Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities – COSHH

COSHH Co-ordination
COSHH Assessments - authorising; auditing dates, quality and compliance
Screening chemicals for safer alternatives
Maintain and administer Safety Datasheets system and update chemical inventory.
Assist with emergency exercises as directed by OIM/OSM
Training in Benzene, Mercury and H2S recognition
Assist with personal Benzene monitoring programme under the instruction of the hygienist Oversight and assurance of the Respiratory Protective Equipment programme (RPE) and carry out Face Fit testing

Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities - HAVS
Hand Arm Vibration Coordinator
Coordinate the HAVS risk assessment process
Awareness training for users
Review data for individual exposures

Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities – Noise
Noise Coordinator
Provide Hearing Protection Device (HPD) fit training and verify suitability and attenuation
Keep Noise Exposure Management System (NEMS) up to date
Establish rolling dosimetry programme, carry out targeted noise dosimetry and verify results with NEMS model


Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities - Potable Waste

Potable Water & Legionella Coordinator
Daily monitoring, adjustment and recording of biocide content
Ensure or carry out all other monitoring from written plan or generic maintenance strategy
Keep risk assessment in date and regularly review
Maintain and regularly update and review a written plan and audit adherence Train and keep informed all job roles named in written plan

Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities - PPE
Support correct selection of Client approved COSHH related PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including eyewear fitting advice and prescription eyewear programme

Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities - Manual Handling
Administer Manual handling database
Preparing manual handling assessments in own area and authorising manual handling assessments
Auditing assessment dates, quality and compliance
Awareness training and coaching of assessors
Lifting and handling training

Qualifications
Key attributes

Experience of working within administration/customer service environment, preferably with a logistics background in the Oil & Gas industry
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
Ability to organise and prioritise workload and be pro-active in doing so
Approachable and relates well to people at all levels
IT literate – Word, Excel, Outlook and internet
Flexible and responsive to change
Experience of working in a team environment
Attention to detail
Awareness of IADC and OSHA Guidelines
