Offshore Medic

This is a job starting 8th of December
Duration: 4 weeks.

Due to an increased number of assignments in the Windfarm Offshore industries we are looking for offshore medics certified for work at windfarms. The position will be based in an on-board hospital of a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) and mainly based in the North Sea.

Responsibilities
On-call duty 24/7
The medic will be on duty for 12 hours, start and finish times to be mutually agreed and on-call 24/7 for emergencies outside of normal work hours
Provide first response in an emergency, i.e. perform any necessary treatments on the scene until the emergency rescue team arrives
Diagnosing health problems via the observation of symptoms and patient interaction
Give medical advice in case of low-threshold requests, e.g. less severe diseases
To assist the responsible person (medical officer) for the control of all medical equipment, medication, consumables in the hospital
If needed cooperation with land-based emergency physician (Teleconsultation)
Carry out COVID testing to include Anti-body, Anti-Gen and PCR type on request using test kits supplied by the Charterer
Act in the role on board vessel/accommodation jack up as welfare coordinator
Prepare and roll out health and wellbeing initiatives monthly
Assist in the preparation and present hospital equipment, medication, and consumables levels/requirements for employees review and approval
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years' post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH's Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit,


OR one of the following:

Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above)
Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above)
British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above),
Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above)
Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician


OR

HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH's Service


AND

Knowledge relevant to the offshore sector (fixed platforms/windfarms)
HSE Offshore Medic Certificate
BOSIET/ FOET
Minimum Industry Safety Training (GWO)
A current and valid Offshore Medical Certificate, including Chester Step & XBR
Preparedness to transfer from vessel to structures or other vessels
Preparedness to take over additional duties, e.g. carrying out First Aid trainings with personnel of the wind farm or participating in emergency drills
Personal skills

Calm in stressfull situations
Shows initiative and positivity
Good cooporation skills
