Offshore Medic/ HSE Coordinator (1 year FTC)

As an Offshore Medic/ HSE Coordinator you will offer a provision of independent medical support and healthcare to the offshore organisation, administrative support to the offshore management organisation and offshore HSE support, guidance and coaching in accordance with the DeepOcean HSEQS Management System, current legislation and regulations. You will work in international offshore locations.

Duties and responsibilities
MedicalAdministering treatment and care for all personnel who become injured or ill in accordance with their competence level and medical training;
Compliance with applicable legislation and regulations in relation to medical care in an offshore
environment;
Main point of liaison with Vessel Master and onshore Medical Support Functions;
Support and guidance to offshore employees on health awareness issues;
Administrative Support to the Offshore Manager with the understanding that this is secondary to medical duties.
Regular training of on-board First-Aid Team.
COVID mitigation activities and testing as required.

HSE
To conduct activities in accordance with the DeepOcean HSE Management System requirements and to meet all legal obligations incorporated in the DeepOcean HSE Management system.
To continually promote the HSEQS culture values of DeepOcean throughout the organisation. To promote awareness and understanding of HSE issues throughout the organisation.
To support the HSE Engineers with various HSE matters.
To support and participate with specific monitoring and control activities and ensure they are suitably recorded.
Delivery of relevant training and awareness courses.
Support of the Behavioural Safety Programme ACT for Safety.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years’ post-graduation experience within one or more of:
A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit, OR;
Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR;
Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR;
British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR;
Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR;
Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician, OR;
HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of:
Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH’s Service
HSE Offshore Medics Course
BOSIET/FOET (c/w CA-EBS)
OGUK Medical
HSE Approved Offshore Medics Certificate of Training
Industry recognised Health and Safety Qualification (NEBOSH / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification) and relevant work experience
Applicable GWO Certification (Desirable)
ALS (Desirable)
PHTLS (Desirable)
Diver Medics Course (Desirable)
Danish Maritime Authority Medical Course (Desirable)
DBS certificate (current transferable or can be obtained upon selection)
